AVAILABLE POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
This crew is involved with renovating residential old landscapes into fresh new landscapes as well as installing new landscapes around a new home. All the projects are installed per the design created by our in-house landscape designers. Projects vary in length ranging from a few days to a week or more. There is the same general flow on every project, but every day is different from the next. Individuals interested in this crew position will need to have a valid drivers license with an excellent driving record, be able to drive a truck and trailer, have the ability to understand and retain our workflow and take direction from a Team Leader, perform heavy lifting of 50lbs+, hauling of wheelbarrows filled with mulch, stone or other materials, digging, properly planting perennials, trees and shrubs, operating skid loaders and small machines like an edger, sod cutter and a backpack blower; and working in the outdoors for an 8-10 hour day. The installation crew ideally consists of 4 team members but varies from time to time. We currently run 1 Installation Crew.
This team member works on a maintenance crew helping with keeping the appearance of our loyal customers landscape beds looking in tip top shape! We currently have 2 maintenance crews that go out regularly; the crews ideally consist of 3 team members, that includes a team leader on each. The crews also get opportunities to work on small special projects for our maintenance customers as well as assist, on occasion, on installation projects throughout the season, as the need arises. Individuals interested in this crew position will need to have a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record, be able to drive a truck and trailer Also be able to, in general, perform weeding, cutting off the old/dead flower heads off (deadheading) of perennials, splitting of plants, raking/leaf clean-up in the spring and fall primarily, watering, cutting back perennials, when necessary, proper pruning of ornamental shrubs and operating small gas powered/battery powered equipment such as a blower, trimmers, and edger. This team member needs to be detail oriented and be able to communicate well with others, be able to take instruction from the team leader while working as a team and working outside for an 8-hour day.

As the team leader you will be responsible for communicating with customers throughout the season and sending out maintenance contracts in the spring. Taking ownership of caring for our customers properties appropriately and following the contracted requirements for each. Leading a team of about 1-3 team members. Manage the workflow in an efficient way. Have good knowledge of the landscape and plants and how to care for them. Needs to be detail oriented and be able to communicate well with their team and customers and be able to work outside for an 8-hour day. This person also needs to have good problem solving, math, thinking ahead, documentation, organization and basic computer skills. The team leader will perform periodic reviews for their direct reports and submit them to their manager. Our team leaders are responsible for keeping a positive atmosphere and managing their team with Skyline Landscape Design’s culture in mind. Team leaders are part of the hiring and firing process but are not solely responsible.
